We all love Red Bull don't we?? Jagr Bombs. Vodka Red Bull. Massive marketing budgets well spent on cool events and action sports. Crushed Ice anyone?? One of the coolest events out there.

Well, the Red Bull illume photo contest is back. After a multi year absence, it's back. What is it?? Basically, it's an open call for photos in categories ranging from Culture to New Creativity to Sequences to Illumination. And it's action sports only so back off Sports Illustrated. Although the list of "sports" is long (Running?? Mountainboarding?? Seriously??), the bulk of the photography is coming from snowsports, surfing, skateboarding, biking (BMX, Moto and Mountain), Climbing etc..........

Have a look at their website and the gallery of images that were selected as finalists in 2007. All of these photos were made into huge lightboards and displayed at various locations around the world culminating in the final show where one single winner was chosen and given a huge prize (a photo shoot of his/her choice in an exotic location with the Red Bull athletes of their choice).

Here are a few of the shots I have entered. To date, almost 6000 photos have been entered by almost 2500 photographers. Entry deadline is Feb 28. Winners will be announced in May so hopefully I'll be following this up with news that I was selected. Cross your toes.
